I can’t say I am a really big candy bar person, but from time to time I do like to chomp on something. I don’t know if they have Yorkie bars in America, probably not as most American candy is rubbish from the pitiful selections I’ve seen. However even if it were, I doubt it would get away with the cheeky ‘not for girls’ campaign.
Truth of the matter is if a dog is mans best friend, then choclate is womans best friend. My favorite has to be a Cadbury’s creme egg though. They are just yummy. I don’t even want to think how bad they must be for you.

Seems like some humor is lost on Americans :-)
Okay, I will clarify my position on Chocolate as if it were important. British Chocolate is, as I understand it, very highly regarded among serious chocolate lovers, perhaps second only to Belgium and Swiss chocolate which I am reliably informed is the best in the world. American Chocolate, though delightful, isn’t a the top of many peoples international top-choc list, however that is not to say it is in any way substandard. My calling it “rubbish” was done so only in jest as was not meant to offend any Americans, anyone from the American Chocolate making industry or anyone who is a fan of Chocolate produced in North America.
I should point out, as much as I enjoy the occasional Yorkie bar, I am in no way responsible for the current ‘not for girls’ campaign being undertaken by Cadburys in relation to that particular brand. Further more I had no involvement nor do I have influence over those who design, promote, produce or distribute this particular, on any, chocolate bar either in the UK, the EU or indeed the rest of the world.
Finally, I would like to say that I have nothing against America in general. I spend a lot of time (and money) in that country. I do however think the President is a wild west gun slinging bafoon. But then I don’t think this opinion has ever been hidden and if it has at any stage been unclear then please accept my apologies for this.

What!? How dare you!! Our chocolate is not “rubish”.

Okay, that last comment by me… that was a joke too (shakes head) :-)
I am considering putting anything I write in jest in red text! :-)

Simon,
What’s up with you? Why do you have this overwhelming urge to bash America every chance you can? I don’t get it.
On the positive side, you take great pictures!

LOL!! Oh Megan, that comment made me laugh right out loud. I have this vision of an angry 17 year old girl animatedley going on a tirade about President Bush.
“I really dislike G.W. Bush. I think he is a terrible president. He’s ruining this country!” then the afterthough comment… “And ruining the Choclate too!!!”
Puzzled faces all round :-)

There’s a difference between seeing and tasting, babe. I think maybe you’re just not a chocolate fan.

Okay, so what is the Yorkie? What’s in it that’s so BAD for us? Chewing tobacco? Yuck. Wouldn’t want it anyway. The Cadbury Eggs? Yeah! That and Dove Chocolates. Yummmmm.

Whatever isn’t good for us or the birds must be okay for male ingestion.

King, you’re always so apologetic. A crowd-pleaser, I guess.

Simon… you can keep your yorkie bars…I’ll keep my yankee bars. And you have every right to bash America. It sucks right now. I am probably going to go to Canada or Germany or somewhere far away from Dubya as soon as my age rolls on up to 18. Dubya is ruining the U.S. And the chocolate.
I think he’s brainwashing people into voting for him by putting something in the chocolate supply. That would seem most likely. I mean, he wants to go and put troops somewhere because he thinks they shouldn’t have what we do. He’s ruining the world, one country at a time.
And yes, Cadbury eggs ROCK. I get like… a million for Easter.
Outie!~~Megan~~

I disabled eprops kuz I thought they were pointless. Hope that’s okay with everyone.
I was tempted last night to tell anyone if they weren’t convinced at the quality of Brit choclate they should email me their address and I would send them some Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Choclate, a Creme Egg and a Yorkie for FREE! But you know what, I changed my mind. But if you’re near Boston in April I shall be sure and bring you some! I have to bring loads for my friends there anyway :-)

Hey, if you don’t like America, there’s plenty room in Iraq!

But whats the use of having it if you need to go to specialist stores to get it. But then I guess it’s like Belgium or Swiss choclate. That stuff blows E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G else out of the water. You can’t get it here though unless you want to pay top price at somewhere like Harrods.
I think getting good Choclate in America is probably a question of finding it. I find it funny though that for a country so utterly immersed in multiple choices of everything, your choice of choccy is dramaticly limited compared to our on this side of the pond.
However I will say one thing… You guys have Butterfingers, and Nestle don’t ship that brand here. I once emailed Netsle to say how dissapointed I was they didn’t export that brand to Europe and they emailed me back asking me for an address. Two weeks later I got a box of something like 25 of them, compliments of the nice people at Nestle. :-)
When I return to Texas Jude, I’m gonna bring a load of UK choc with me, and between us we can have the anglo-american choc war, tasting and counter-tasting the selections before us :-)

harsh! I have no particular interest of whether it’s american or british chocolate, just as long as I get some :-) However, I have never tried these cadbury eggs, so maybe I ought to give them a try. However, I will say this: so far, the best chocolate I have tasted is Lindt, from Switzerland. The best chocolate truly does come from the high up mountains over there.

Dropsofjupiterihh, I don’t mind Godiva, but I always look at and think it’s called Govinda, which makes me want to bust into a song. :-)
