I know that you have probably already seen this video and I’m probably late to the party, but when I saw this I laughed and laughed at the tragedy of this clearly unstable drama queen balling over how the media have hounded Britney Spears.

Watching YouTube is often times akin to slowing down to look at a road accident. It’s a place where every blonde moment and gaff is forever punished and where many a freak show is born, the latest of which is Chris Crocker from Bristol, Tennessee.

Crocker is lapping up his nine minutes of notoriety since Fox news decided to show a video he had posted on his site of him wailing about how unfair he thought it was that Britney Spears is being hounded by the media. In that video Crocker freakishly screams “leave Britney alone” telling us he “means it” and that if anyone has a problem with Britney then they should deal with him.

Crocker, who is clearly a scary Britney fan of stalker proportions, claims the video has lead to him getting “offers from Hollywood” though he also claims in an earlier video that the Bible is written by the government, so clearly Mr Crocker is full of shit. But in the spirit of watching something truly awful sit back and enjoy watching Chris Crocker have a fantastically pitiful melodramatic meltdown.

Contestants for the upcoming Amazing Philippines Beauties contest pose during a press launch at a hotel in Manila October 2, 2007. I’m trying to think of something witty to write about this picture but my mind draws a blank.

So look closely, very closely, at this picture and see if you can tell which of these beautiful looking women is actually a guy! Once you think you’ve figured it out watch the video below. Despite the foreign language you’ll figure it out.

When I was a kid the enemy of choice for most action movies were the Soviets who were intent on nothing more than spreading communism around the world. That reflected a real fear of the time, a fear that the communists hated us so much that they were willing at any moment to drop a nuke on our heads. Who knows how close they came to that, but of course they never did. In retrospect I think that the real enemy back then was the fear of communism rather than the communism itself. Today it would seem to me that we’ve replaced the communist threat/fear with Islam.

Jesus Christ!

Many of you have seen Morgan Spurlock’s film ‘Supersize me.’ In that movie he chooses to eat nothing but McDonald’s food for 30 days to see if the companies claim that they make a “nutritious meal” is real. The movie was a huge hit and a serious pain in the ass for the fast food giant. Off the back of that Spurlock decided to film a TV series in which he, or someone else, has to live an alternative life to their own for 30 days. One of the most interesting shows in that series was where a Christian from West Virginia moved to a muslim community in Michigan to live as a Muslim for 30 days.

There are plenty of people who are ready to spout all manner of negative things about Islam and while I support their right to be critical I often wonder what it is that motivates such a hateful and fearful stance toward the religion. I liken the fear of Islam to the old fear of communism because I believe that the true enemy here is not Islam but rather fear. A fearful people are easy to control.

If you get a chance take a little time to watch this episode of 30 days or look out for repeats of the series on TV. Another 2 episodes to look out for are 30 days as an atheist among Christians, and 30 days as a straight man in a gay mans world.
