366 PICTURES – THE UNSEEN – DAY 10
As the 2013 St Kilda festival comes to an end for another year here in Melbourne, today’s unseen picture from 366 pictures is quite fitting. It’s a shot from the final day of last years St Kilda Festival.
As the sun set across the Port Phillip Bay it provided a perfect backdrop for the main stage of Melbourne’s annualSt Kilda Festival. On stage were the Miami Horror DJs, who were energizing the crowd with a funky mix of ‘techo’ dance music. Aside from their head bobbing, the pair of DJ’s weren’t very animated, but the same cannot be said for the throngs of people who were clearly loving the event.
After spending the day wandering around the festivals various live stages and markets, this was the shot I had been planning to take. I knew the sunset and the lights from the stage would make a good picture, but as so often happened, the shot I planned didn’t end up being the picture I used.
If you watched 366 pictures you might remember the shot I used that day. It was the one of a couple in the crowd having an intimate moment, a picture that a number of people told me was among their favorite shots from 366 pictures.

@ Hannah – It’s a pretty awesome place for a concert, and we’re having a good summer here in Victoria, so that makes it even better. However, when it rains, that place sucks because aside trees, you’re a long way from cover.
