I’m just putting the final details together of my next tour of America. I’m calling it a tour rather than a trip because, as usual, the summer trip involves a quite intense travel schedule. But I thought I would let all of you know just in case any of you would like to meet up along the way.
The tour will span the entire month of September starting in Portland, Oregon, where I will be for a week. I’ll then be swinging through central valley California before heading for Durango, Colorado, where I’ll be for 4 days. I’ll then be heading to Denver and Bolder for a few days before flying out to Houston, Texas, for the final part of the trip in the last week of the month.
Last year we had a little Xanga get together which was awesome, I’d certainly be up for that again if anyone else was?
Although the trip seems like a long one, it will fly by as my itinerary is sure to be quite busy especially on the west coast. I’d love to stop in Chicago as I have to fly though there twice, but I can’t justify making the tour any longer than it currently is. Heck if I could I’d add a stop in New Orleans, Waveland, New York and Boston too.
This trip might be the last one of it’s kind for a while. I’d like to start heading off to Australia and New Zealand soon. I have a couple of friends in New Zealand who have said I should visit, and I think it’s about time I took them up on that offer. I’ve never been to that part of the world and I desperately want to see it.

Snob! I knew you couldnt handle our mechanical bull! Well cant say I could “swing” by Houston its 4 hrs away esp during Fall sem. I could compromise maybe….theres a place called Centerville known for beef jerky…woo hoo! thats halfway from Dallas…maybe we could find the biggest rubberband ball or err jerkey ball…ewww. Keep it open for consideration….or a quick drive to the Big “D” LOL :)

Simon-
Looking forward to your trip. The Hookah awaits you, my friend. Of course, it also waits for Nathan, Reece and others. Alas, I still think you could pass for a native Texan any day you wanted. You can still travel in disguise if you so wanted….

Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful stay in the USA…your tour sounds great! Have fun, I know you have a lot of friends in Houston. Do you have a English accent? I love listening to N.T. Wright, his accent is wonderful. My husband grew up in New Orleans and has a total lack of an accent – strange, his sisters and parents all have a New Orleans accent. Oh well, don’t tell me if you do not have an English accent…I like thinking you do!

Do I have an accent? Well of course I do, just as you do Donna. :-) I don’t sound like Hugh Grant though. I’m not that stuffy.
Shae, I have a money making plan for you. Sell tickets for the Simon – Reece meet. I reckon they might earn you a bit of dosh. I’ll bring my Koran with me! :-) (That’s if Homeland security don’t arrest me for having one.)

Although he can put on the Hugh Grant accent if requiered, the Calafonian girls love it I’m told ;-)
Hey Simon, would love to do the whole Australia/New Zealand thing with you, so let me know when you’re thinking of going.

I’m sure the party can be arranged.

I don’t think you can bring a Koran onboard an airplane these days. I know for certain that a combination of a Koran, fingernail clippers and shoe polish will certainly get you detained.
Or so I’ve heard.

Please tell me that carrying a Koran is not deemed an offense or a threat. Either way now I will ensure I have one in my hand luggage whilst aboard all my flights.

That was confusing! I am not sure who found whom…I guess you should enjoy being found Simon…or did you find someone? I am confusing myself, I should go to bed! Hope you have a great day.

Okay, just got the confirmation for my Houston dates. Slight change. I thought Houston was going to be the final part of the trip but it turns out that it won’t be (due to strange airline rules). So I will be in Houston from the Friday 22nd to the 26th of September. It’s not long so we need to pack in a lot of stuff in those few days :-)

I’m having issue with my Texas dates. Logic is not present at United Airlines therefore I will be in Texas a few days earlier than expected at this stage, though I hope to get the ticket reverted to the idea itinerary.
