I thought I would post these pictures I took of some of the creepy crawlies that were just hanging our Susan’s house in Mississippi.
Actually one of the things I most enjoyed in Mississippi and Texas was sitting outside in the evening or at night, and listening to the amazing amount of noise that the tree frogs, toads, crickets, cicadas, and other creepy crawly things out there.
Of course the tree frogs, gecko’s and other crawlies have adapted to living in the company of humans. Susan’s house had tree frogs and gecko’s on the outside walls much to the displeasure of her daughter, Laura, who would pick up the garden hose and spray water at a tree frog if it was on the front door when she came home!

aww i know those creatures! Alright so i have a tree frog story. Once upon a time i wanted to know if the back of a tree frog was as sticky as the front. SO my friend and i (jr. high mind you) decided to test it out. We caught a tree frog then tossed it up against a wall so his back hit first and he stuck exactly as we tossed him- back glued to the wall! it was so funny ( and aweful i guess)! unfortunately he was too high up so we couldnt get him down… but he was gone the next morning so he probably got free. just thought i’d share in case any of you ever wondered about the back of a tree frog…

He was probably eaten some tree frog eating bird or possum! :-)

The last two warm days that we have had up here in the north west of England (which this summer we haven’t seen many of!) we get massive beetles crawling into the front of the house when the door is opened! It is almost as though they are waiting to be let in. Still don’t know why they want to come in?

Here in southeast Louisiana those “creepy crawlies” are a part of our every day existence. I just love the sticky tree frogs. I find them lodged in pots and just about anything that holds them in my backyard. We have gecko’s that hang around the house in the nights to eat cockroaches (both indigenous to this area, which was swampland long ago). The chameleon type critters give my cats fits and I am always finding them inside the house; I can usually save them by putting them outside.
