Wasn’t there a scene in Mel Brooks “History of the World” where Moses comes down from the mountain and proclaims “I give you the fifteen…” one table falls out of his hand and shatters “…the ten commandments!”

oh leave me be simon. it would be the perfect joke with her being naturally beautiful with her imperfections as a perfect ten, if I’d ever heard the ten commandments referred to as the perfect ten. but i havent. either way sorry, shouldnt have put up how unfunny i thought it was. Ill keep that to myself in the future.
Shouldn’t it be “Moses in the SEVEN Commandments”? I get that he threw away the “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s…wife” first, then “Thou shalt not kill”, but wouldn’t he need to throw out “Thou shalt not commit adultery” too to achieve his goal? (Although she doesn’t really seem too happy at him so maybe that’s not going to happen.)
The husband is dead Matt. Moses can now marry the woman and shag her* till his hearts content surely?
(*I fully understand that she might not want to be shagged by Moses, but as I understand it what women wanted really wasn’t considered all that important back then.)

I don’t find the cartoon funny in the slightest. God will not be mocked.
Just so you are clear Simon, Matt Whaley is correct when he talks of adultery because adultery starts where you lust for someone that you are not married to. It’s an unrighteous act that in no circumstances pleases God. I also believe that God is not happy when we trivialize any sin.
Matthew 5:28, “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
2 Peter 2:14, “Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:”
Deuteronomy 22:22, “If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.”

The 8 Commandments, Sponsored by Pepsi.
Yeah, a little bit of overreaction going on here. But hey? What do I know? I’m not a believer. Ergo I’m going to several religions hells. And do girls who aren’t actually married count yet? Say they were just a girlfriend? If I steal them, then technically as they’re not married, no problem, right?
