I’m not a big Johnny Cash fan, indeed I don’t really know much about him or his story. But I recently saw the video for his cover of a Nine Inch Nails song ‘Hurt’.
The song performed by him is amazing when you consider that he knew this would be his last video ever. Within just a few months of filming this, both Cash and his wife (seen in the video) were dead.
It’s quite powerful and symbolic and makes me more curious to learn about the man who to some is nothing short of a musical legend.

Jackiethelibby: I agree, Cash’s version of the song is really moving. His wife’s face looks so sad. I think they both knew this was his farewell performance. It’s made all the more sad that she was to die before him after complications in an operation, making the line “Everyone I know, goes away, in the end” somehow more poignant.

That video made me nearly choke up when I saw it. And the song just has more meaning than when Trent Reznor sang it, or I thought so anyway.

Didnt Johnny Cash once appear in an episode of Columbo? I grew up listening to his stuff, my mum was gutted when he died.
